Vijay Bondada was president of NASABA from 2004 to 2005 and was a member of NASABA’s original founding executive committee. Mr. Bondada is currently Senior Director of the Corporate Risk Management Group at Pfizer Inc., the world’s largest pharmaceutical manufacturer. Based in the company’s New York headquarters, he directs a team responsible for the preservation of Pfizer's corporate assets through risk identification, risk control and avoidance, risk transfer and maximizing insurance claim recoveries. Mr. Bondada's team has primary accountability within Pfizer for evaluating the company's global insurance needs and administering its insurance programs worldwide. Prior to his current role, Mr. Bondada was a member of Pfizer's Legal Division. With over 15 years experience in products liability, insurance coverage and commercial litigation, Mr. Bondada was engaged in managing the resolution of various nation-wide complex litigation matters involving several of the company’s key therapies and has a proven track record in effectively setting and implementing end game strategies for several key litigations. He has served as Co-Chair of Pfizer’s Legal Division Diversity Steering Committee. Prior to joining Pfizer, Mr. Bondada worked at some of the country’s premier law firms, including Skadden Arps Slate Meagher & Flom LLP, Reed Smith LLP and Dickstein Shapiro LLP. He is a graduate of the Temple University School of Law. Mr. Bondada is also a former president of the South Asian Bar Association of New York and was instrumental in SABA-NY's current association with NASABA.
