Privacy Statement for NASABA.COM

Welcome to the North American South Asian Bar Association ("NASABA") website. NASABA has created this privacy statement in order to demonstrate our commitment to privacy for our website users and our membership. Below please find NASABA’s information gathering and dissemination practices. The privacy statement may change at any time and any changes will be posted on this page. Should you have additional questions, comments or concerns please contact us at info@nasaba.com.

This Notice applies only to the information collected by NASABA from the users of our website located at nasaba.com ("Website"). It does not apply to information collected by NASABA in any other manner, including offline.

Our Website is not set up to automatically collect personally identifiable information from each visitor to our Website. It does recognize the home server of visitors, but not email addresses. For example, we can tell which Internet Service Provider our visitors use, but not the names, addresses or other information about our visitors that would allow us to identify the particular visitors to our Website. This information is used only for internal purposes by our technical support staff.

Our Website does track certain information about the visits to our Web site. For example, we compile statistics that show the numbers and frequency of visitors to our Website and its individual pages. These aggregated statistics are used internally to improve our Website and for professional development, educational and marketing purposes generally. Those aggregated statistics may also be provided to sponsors and other third parties, but again, the statistics contain no personal information and cannot be used to gather such information.

In a few areas on our Website, we ask you to provide information that will enable us to verify whether you are entitled to access and use certain information, materials and services available from our Website, or to enable us to enhance your site visit, or to otherwise support your membership or leadership relationship with NASABA. It is completely optional for you to participate. However, failure to participate may mean that you cannot access and use certain information, materials and services or be a member of certain NASABA groups, such as committees and sections.

Our Website's registration forms require users to give us contact information (such as name and email address), method of payment, demographic information, and educational and professional information. We use member and user contact information from the registration forms to send the user information about our association, including meeting notices and surveys, and to notify you of events, community requests, updated information regarding NASABA and offers from third parties that we think may be of interest to you. The customer's contact information is also used to contact the visitor when necessary regarding his or her account. Information regarding method of payment is collected for member enrollment, registration and to process membership dues and renewals.

Your email address will only be used within NASABA. We do not sell or rent email addresses to anyone outside NASABA. For some emails distributed by NASABA and its Committees and Sections, specific information regarding recipient response is collected. For example, we may sometimes review how many recipients open and subsequently choose to click through to links provided in an email. We use this information only for the purposes of analyzing areas of interest, improving our products and enhancing the usefulness of our website for NASABA members and other visitors. None of this information is sold or distributed outside of NASABA in any manner.

If you do not want to receive mailings from us, simply tell us when you register your profile or edit your profile. At any time you can easily opt out of receiving further marketing from NASABA by emailing us at directory@nasaba.com.

We use cookies to maintain user session identity, and, in some non-member areas, to store your username and password locally for ease of access. "Cookies" are small pieces of information that are stored by your browser on your computer's hard drive. Most Web browsers automatically accept cookies, but if you prefer, you can edit your browser options to block them in the future.

NASABA is committed to providing 100 percent availability of its website(s) and email aliasing service contained in our Directory, however, we cannot "guarantee" the Internet connectivity of our website(s), nor can we be responsible for lost or delayed requests, email, or content.

For questions regarding our web site being down or any related service outage, please send an email to directory@nasaba.com.
